On Sunday, August 29, at St. Vartan Church after the Divine Liturgy, we had an extremely successful Harvest Festival, on the sundeck, yard and Setrak Kalpakian Hall.
It was full of fun and entertaining, simply because there was pure team work, not just between the executive board members, but the whole community.
The ladies of our parish had prepared so many goodies from the proceeds of the season’s harvest for sale, and it all looked so colorful, arranged on tables underneath a tent like tarp. Hot dogs, corn on the cob and ice cream were also served on the deck, On the other hand, the yard itself and on the lawn, game tables were set up for the kids. And with ACYOC some members’ assistance, Brigitte Karakas had organized a variety of them. Thanks also to Alex Tertsagian , thirteen years old himself, for occupying the kids for hours, and teaching them how to make origami artwork. So many of our parishioners showed up, and we were all thrilled with the outcome of the fun day. We look forward to another harvest festival next year. And thanks to everyone for having made this Festival so successful.
