On Sunday, September 19 2010 His Grace Bishop Bagrat Galstanian, the Primate of the Canadian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, during His Pastoral visit to the Western Canada Parishes, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church of BC, assisted by the Pastor, Archpriest Rev. Father Keghart Garabedian, deacon, sub-deacon, acolytes on the Altar and the choir members lead by choirmaster Mr. Arman Hosepyan.
At the end of the Church Service, on the occasion of the 19 Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, His Grace blessed the Armenian Flag. Later on, a procession walk took place towards the flag pole placed out side the Church building while the congregation sang the Armenian Hymn. Outside the congregation gathered around the flag pole while His Grace offered His sermon praising and congratulating the occasion and its values for every Armenian in diaspora as a day of identity.
After the Church Service, at Setrak Kalpakian Hall a special program and presentation was prepared by the participants’ of year 2010 CYMA.
Mrs. Brigitte Karakas the MC presented both Patrick Kouyoumdjian and Cassandra Tavukciyan the participants of year 2010 CYMA.
The presentation’s information was provided by the participants and a DVD was prepared by Mr. Vasgen Degirmentas about the project of the CYMA at Geghatir village school and the explanation given by Patrick and Cassandra, which impressed the audience.
For this occasion the Ladies Guild had prepared and offered delicious food.
