On Sunday, September 25 2011, St. Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church community celebrated the 20 Anniversary of the Independence Day (September 21) of our homeland the Republic of Armenia.
Arch-priest Rev. Father Keghart accompanied with choir master Mr. Arman Hosepyan, organist Hasmik Hovhanessian and the choir members, deacon Jamil Kevranian, sub-deacon Shiraz Kassardjian and the faithful celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
A requiem service was held in memory of martyred soldiers who died in defending our country and nation.
Father Keghart in his message addressed the Feast of Varaka Sourp Khach as a divine sign of the glorious and victorious testimony of our faith and love to our heavenly Father and our homeland.
After the sermon the Flag of our homeland handled by youth and children was blessed as the symbol of the appreciation and a pledge of our future generation in keeping and maintaining our homeland with their love and sacrifices.
At Setrak Kalpakian hall the Ladies Guild offered delicious sandwiches, while the parishioners enjoyed on a DVD an awesome concert prepared and conducted by our beloved Maestro Armen Martirossian for the Independence Day occasion.
For this occasion we thank everyone for their participation and the contribution.
