St. Nerses Shnorhali Sunday School’s 7th Annual Pumpkin Patch
It has become a tradition to visit Richmond Country Farm Market’s Pumpkin Patch at the end of each October. Our students get a ride on a hay wagon and enjoy costumed entertainers, sing their favorite pumpkin picking songs and get to pick their own pumpkins. We have lunch together with our teachers and get a BC grown Spartan apple as a healthy snack at the end to conclude our field trip. With the pumpkins, we make our traditional Armenian “Ghapama” which we serve at our October Friday Social at Ararat Armenian Community Centre’s Setrak Kalpakian Hall. On Friday Social, our students get to do some fall arts and crafts , decorate cookies and showcase their costumes and of course, get sweet treats to take home.Well, enough said, “A picture is worth a thousand words”.
