October 13th – Archpriest Rev. Fr. Narek Mataraian visits St. Vartan

Կիրակի, Հոկտեմբեր 13ին, Եկեղեցիիս Հոգևոր Հովիւ Տէր Գեղարդ Աւագ Քահանայի բացակայութեան առիթով, այցելու Արժանապատիւ Տէր Նարեկ Աւագ Քահանայ Մադարեանը Սուրբ Պատարագ մատուցեց և քարոզեց։ Թարգմանչաց տօնին նուիրուած Սուրբ Ներսէս Շնորհալու կիրակնօրեայ դպրոցի աշակերտները առաջնորդութեամբ վերակացու և ուսուցչուհի տիկ. Մարիանա Բուտաղեանին ներկայացուցին կոկիկ յայտագիր։ Թող Աստուծոյ օրհնութիւնը պահէ և պահպանէ մեր կիրակնօրեայ դպրոցը, սուրբ օճախը մեր հաւատքի և մշակոյթի։ Աստուած օրհնէ բոլորդ ձեր Աստուածահաճոյ ծառայութեանց համար։

Վարձկերնիդ կատար, Շիրազ, Շանթ, Սողոմոն, դպրաց դաս, տիկնանց միութիւն, ծխական խորհուրդ, կիրակնօրեայ դպրոցի վերակացու և ծնողներ. Աստուծոյ ողորմութիւնը հովանի ըլլայ ձեզ։On Sunday, October 13, 2024, during our Pastor, Archpriest Rev. Fr. Keghart Garabedian’s absence, we had a visiting clergy member from Las Vegas, United States, Archpriest Rev. Fr. Narek Mataraian, who celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon. For the Feast of the Holy Translators, the St. Nerses Shnorhali, our Church Sunday School students presented a beautiful program headed and directed by teacher and supervisor Mariana Budaghyan. May God bless you all for your dedication.

Linda Gumuchian’s 100th Birthday Celebration

We had a wonderful time celebrating Linda Gumuchian’s 100th birthday at the St Vartan Armenian Church of BC community centre!

Congratulatory letters from His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla, as well as from Governor General of Canada, Mary Simon; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Canada, Anahit Harutunyan; His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church Canadian Diocese and Archbishop Hovan Derderian, Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America were testaments for Linda Gumuchian’s active role in the community and dedication to education, family values and flourishing community. 

Mrs. Linda was surrounded by her family members and friends, who reflected on Mrs. Linda’s incredible life. Suren Ghazaryan treated us to lovely piano performances at the celebration. An interview prepared by Mariana Budaghyan and Sunday School Children and a surprise poem by a young member of our community Samvel Atoyan brought warmth and joy to the occasion.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special occasion. Your presence made the day truly memorable.

St. Nerses Shnorhali Sunday School’s Annual Christmas Bake Sale

On December 5th, 2021, St. Nerses Shnorhali Sunday School had yet another successful Christmas Bake Sale. We would like to take this opportunity and  extend our gratitude and appreciation to all Sunday School’s parents and Ladies Guild members for their delicious homemade baked goods and as well as our community for their generous support.

St. Nerses Shnorhali Sunday School’s Annual Pumpkin Patch

On October 24th, 2021, St. Nerses Shnorhali Sunday School’s students accompanied by their parents and teachers went for their annual pumpkin patch field trip in the Richmond Country Farm. They had lots of fun and collected lots of pumpkin to make Jack O Lanterns and of course the traditional Armenian “Ghapama”.
